John Thomas McFarlin, age 70, died June 25, 2013, at home in Mesquite, Nevada.
He was born August 5, 1942, in Bell, California to John Leslie and Anne Louise Holg McFarlin. On September 3, 1965, he married Dorothy Elida Hank in Huntington Park, California. They had one daughter and were later divorced.
John grew up in Maywood, California. He served as a medic in the US Army from 1961 – 1963 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany and briefly in Vietnam. After his military service, he worked as a canmaker in California. He lived in Northern California for 17 years before raising his daughter in Riverside, California. He moved to Mesquite in 2006 and served as a respite volunteeer with Virgin Valley Home Care and Hospice. He enjoyed playing his slot machine at home.
Survivors include his companion, Kathy Kennedy of Mesquite, NV and one daughter, Tracie (Brandon) Parry of Salt Lake City, UT.
John will be buried in Williams, Indiana.
