HURRICANE – A vehicle rollover occurred on State Street (state Route 9) near 2260 West in Hurricane Thursday after the driver of a white pickup truck travelling eastbound fell asleep.

Hurricane City Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said the accident occurred around 11:35 a.m. The pickup’s driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and did not require medical attention.

No traffic on State Street was impacted by the accident as the truck rolled off of the roadway, Buell said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Buell was unable to confirm whether or not the driver was cited, as officers were still at the scene processing information at the time.
