ST. GEORGE – A St. George man was arrested Friday night for an outstanding warrant and multiple felony drug and restricted weapon charges.
Eric Lee Henderson, 29, was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday by the St. George Police Department. Following a traffic stop, officers discovered he had a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody. A search of his vehicle then revealed methamphetamine, illegally obtained prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, four rifles and one muzzle-loader pistol.
SGPD Sgt. Sam Despain said that due to Henderson’s prior felony conviction, he was not permitted to have weapons in his possession, resulting in felony charges.
Henderson was booked into Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on seven second-degree felony counts, a class A misdemeanor and class C misdemeanor count. Total bail amounted to $72,118.
Washington County Attorney Brock Belnap said that charges were filed Monday morning. His first court hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Ed. Note: Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
