WASHINGTON CITY – A Cedar City woman was cited for unsafe driving, among other charges, following a single-vehicle accident on Interstate-15 near milepost 13 Monday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday, a 2003 Toyota Camry swerved left into the median. The driver, a 30-year-old woman, overcorrected to the right, went off the shoulder and rolled over into an embankment of trees.
The driver received minor injuries, including cuts and bruises to her legs, while her husband, who was a passenger in the car, was not injured. She did not require medical transport.
Cpl. Todd Johnson, public information officer for the Utah Highway Patrol, said the driver claimed she lost control of her car due to faulty alignment. Troopers on scene inspected the car, but their findings were inconclusive.
She was cited for not wearing a seatbelt, not having proof of insurance and unsafe driving.
Ed. correction: The car was driven by the woman, her husband was a passenger.

“a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by a 30-year-old woman and her husband” ???????????????
Wow, that must be a hard car to drive if it took both of them to drive it!
Faulty alignment doesn’t explain the sudden change to the shoulder. Probably texting or other distraction.
