ST. GEORGE – Mesquite Police S.W.A.T. officers executed search warrants a local residence in conjunction with arrests made by detectives from Mesquite, Nev. and agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency Friday morning.
According to a statement issued by the Mesquite Police Department, a 28-year-old man, 26-year-old man, and 22-year-old woman, all from Mesquite, were arrested in St. George, Utah, on federal drug charges by the DEA. The arrests resulted from a several-months-long federal investigation by the DEA and Mesquite Drug Unit for high level trafficking of methamphetamine.
Mesquite detectives recovered guns, narcotics, and U.S. currency upon executing search warrants on the residences of both the 28 and 26-year-old men.
In Mesquite, a 48-year-old woman, 25-year-old woman, 22-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were also arrested and are currently facing state charges and possibly federal charges at a later date.
A total of 778.2 grams of Methamphetamine was seized during the investigation, the police statement stated, with an estimated street value of over $77,000.
“The Mesquite Police Department is committed to keeping drugs and the violence associated with them off our streets,” Mesquite Police Chief Troy Tanner said. “We will continue our efforts in working diligently with state and federal agencies to honor that commitment.”

Does anyone else care about the fact our police spend all there time busting drug users and dealers people who choose to use. Is choice not one of our freedoms any more? .. While the cops are out busting a bunch of loosers my mail got redirected to arizona and some one stole my identity so i go file a report and the detective says i’m going to be honest with you. We aren’t going to investigate this because 9 out of 10 times the perpetrators don’t get caught. Well da if you don’t investigate whos going to pressure these scammers then the cop told me that two more cases almost identical hes working on so what is he working on if they dont investigate this crime and why even report stuff any more ?

Scott, have you talked to the post office? They have federal investigators that investigate crimes against the mail.
Maybe the ones who stole your mail were druggies, if they bust them they’ll find your info. That is why they go after drug addicts……. They steal and commit crimes to support their habits
So, Annie, many support decriminalization of controlled substances so addicts don’t need to steal to support their habit.
Countries outside of the U.S., such as Portugal, have claimed success with similar approaches.
It’s very costly to taxpayers to lock up those who perpetrate victimless crimes. Assault- and theft-style crimes do have victims. It would be nice to have law enforcement focused on deterring and investigating those crimes.
These days the only people who seem to oppose treating drug abuse as a health issue instead of a criminal one seem to be those who profit from the investigation, arrest, prosecution, incarceration, and supervision of drug users. Does that describe you or or your loved ones?

Really?? Why do people think drug dealers are commiting victimless crimes? How would you feel if you came home and you child had overdosed on drugs because they did not understand what they were taking?
