Jumper rescued from Red Hills Parkway hillside

ST. GEORGE – The City of St. George Fire and Police Departments responded to an incident of a man over the hillside at Red Hills Parkway around 4:30 p.m. today.

An 18-year-old male had jumped from the rocks just below Red Hills Parkway near the water tank, Lt. Michael Giles said.  Due to the unique risks posed by the dangerous terrain, they were forced to lift the man from the rocks by rope.

The jumper sustained injuries to his lower extremities and was transported by ambulance to Intermountain Healthcare Southwest Region’s Dixie Regional Medical Center.
