Sand Hollow Marathon this weekend

HURRICANE – There is still time to register for the Sand Hollow Marathon on Saturday, March 31.

The marathon is a full “26.2 miles of jaw-dropping scenery and that can only be found in Southern Utah,” according to the race’s Facebook page. “Starting in downtown Hurricane, you will wind your way around Sand Hollow State Park and back into town.”

The race starts at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Hurricane City Community Center, 63 S 100 West in Hurricane.

“This race is built around amazing landscape and is a course that will challenge you – yet leave you with a smile on your way,” event organizers post on Facebook.

The Sand Hollow Marathon is in its second year, and has already drawn participants from others states and nations.

“We have [people from] three countries and 18 states represented,” said Jason Smith, a spokesman for the event.

While online registration is closed, Smith said perspective racers could still sign up between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. before the marathon begins.

Additional information can be found on the Sand Hollow Marathon website.
