NORTHERN ARIZONA – A 28-year-old Utah man died in the Virgin River Gorge Friday when he was ejected from his vehicle.
Officer Carrick Cooke of Arizona Public Safety said Zerifino Ibarra of Layton, Utah, was driving southbound on I-15 through the Virgin River Gorge when he approached a curb at a high rate of speed. He overcorrected causing the vehicle hit a concrete barrier and roll.
Ibarra was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. near mile marker 16.

There is a reason that the gorge is a 55 mph zone. I have seen numerous cars come around a curve going too fast and slam into another accident or a slow moving truck.
