Charges filed in Cutler hit-and-run case

ST. GEORGE – Charges were filed against the driver involved in the alleged hit-and-run of Marva Cutler in June.

An official complaint with charges of one count of failure to remain at the scene of an accident with a serious injury, a third-degree felony, and one count of failure to stay in one lane, a class-C misdemeanor, were filed in Fifth District Court on Nov. 22.

Marilu Angel, 22, the driver who allegedly hit Cutler, has been summoned to appear in court for a hearing on Jan. 3, 2012.

Marva Cutler, 59, was out jogging on South Little Valley Road on June 21 when she was hit by the alleged driver’s car which fled the scene. She was life-flighted to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev. for treatment. Cutler has since undergone multiple surgeries with doctors optimistic for an eventual recovery.     Wow, that’s it? That’s all the charges they could find for someone who killed a person? (She died on the scene but was revived by paramedics) I find that amazing. Who does she know? Mr. Kessler, I’d like to see a follow-up story on Mrs. Cutler and how the accident has affected, not only her life, but her family’s lives, too.
