IVINS – Tuacahn High School will be holding its third annual Shakespeare Renaissance Feast to benefit students heading to a national acting competition next year.
This year’s feast will feature Tuacahn High’s Shakespearean troupe acting out Henry VIII’s victory over the Lancaster family, drama teacher Andrew Hunsaker said
There will music and dancing, and food, Hunsaker added.
Actors will portray anyone from British royalty, to beggars scrounging around asking for a food. Feast-goers may find themselves a part of the show, as well; though Hunsaker warned that it involved being thrown into the stocks.
“It’s quality entertainment,” Hunsaker said.
Money raised during the feast will go towards students heading to Nebraska next year in order to compete in the International Thespian Festival.
Hunsaker encourages people to come and enjoy the show and see “kids working hard for a good cause.”
The Shakespeare Renaissance Feast will be held in the Black Box Theatre on Sept. 30, and Oct. 1, 3 and 4, at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $18.50, and cover a three course meal to be served at the show. Individuals are asked to order their tickers at least 24 hours before the feast as seating is limited.
