UPDATE: Marva Cutler, 59, was life-flighted after being a victim of a hit-and-run just before 8 a.m. this morning.
Sgt. Craig Harding said Cutler was jogging near 3100 South Little Valley Road when a vehicle in the opposite lane crossed the center into opposing traffic, struck Cutler, went up the side of the hill, and then took off. He did not say whether the driver hit the victim intentionally or if they lost control of their vehicle.
Harding said the vehicle would have front-end damage to the center of the vehicle and is asking the public to call police if they know anyone with recent, unexplained damage to their vehicle.
Police were called after passersby found Cutler lying in the roadway, Harding said. She is currently in the trauma center in critical condition.
The speed limit on that road is 35 mph, and Harding said he does not have any reason to indicate that the car was going exceptionally fast.

ST. GEORGE – A middle aged female was jogging or walking southbound on Little Valley Road this morning when she was struck by a northbound vehicle, according to Detective Craig Harding of the St. George Police Department.
Harding advises that the woman has been life flighted, and while he is uncertain of her destination he has heard some indication that it may be the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The police do not have a description of the colliding vehicle yet, it was a hit and run, and is under investigation, says Harding.
“We are looking for anyone who might have information on this hit and run, anyone who observes any vehicle damage, any behavioral indication, be it that of their boss, a spouse, a relative, a co-worker.”
Tips of this nature are asked to be called in to the St. George Police Department, 435-627-4301.

Marva is my aunt, and she is a loving, kind person. I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t adore this woman. Please help us find the driver of the vehicle, we need all the help we can get.

Sorry she got hurt. On the other hand I love how the city provides sidewalks and trails and people prefer to run in the road!
I’ll verify with the PD but from the investigation markings, looks like she wasn’t actually in the road. In the story it states the car drove into the opposing lane it wasn’t like she was jogging too close to the road and they accidentally hit her. They had to cross the center and go over to the other side before they hit her
Running on trails is not safe for a woman running by herself. Sometimes the road is the only option.
Little Valley Road has no sidewalks. During the school year children often walk up and down the side of the road to get to and from school. The speed limit is 35 mph. Cars are supposed to stay in between the lines.
If you have been to Little Valley you would know that there are no sidewalks to walk on and she was not in the road so don’t assume anything. (I am her daughter)
