Weekly Construction Update April 22

I-15, Black Ridge to the Iron County Line

Contract: W.W. Clyde & Co.

Amount: $17,338,995

Location: Between the Toquerville and New Harmony exits.

Impact: * Lanes shift to accommodate work in the median.

* Single lane closures in the event of bridge deck repairs.

* Potential single lane closures and reduced speeds in the southbound lanes Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Activity: * Potential bridge deck repairs.

* From milepost 33 to 42 the contractor is installing new fence.

* Workers are installing conduit from mileposts 35 to 37.

* Heavy equipment operators are excavating and moving material in the median and shoulders adjacent to northbound lanes at mileposts 34 through 38.

* Retention wing walls are being erected under the structure at Exit 36.

* Workers are replacing parapets at the Exits 40 and 42.

* A box culvert is being extended at milepost 42.  .

 

I-15, Dixie Drive Interchange

Contract: Washington County Constructors

Amount: $52,549,452

Location: St. George (Mileposts 5 – 6)

Impact: * Two lanes of traffic remain open in both directions.

* All exits are open.

* Speed is reduced to 55 m.p.h.

* Northbound traffic has been shifted to the southbound side of the interstate near the Santa Clara bridge.

* Motorists should use caution near the Bluff Street Interchange merge lanes.

* Traffic lanes have been shifted on Hilton Drive.

* The Hilton Drive Trail is closed.

Activity: * Bridge deck work over Convention Center Drive and the new northbound I-15 bridge over the Santa Clara River.

* Structural preparation for the future southbound on-ramp.

* Completing retention walls for current construction phase.

* Drainage work at Hilton Drive.

* Flood debris removal and dredging.

S.R. 212, Telegraph Street

Contract: Interstate Rock Products

Amount: $5,515,140

Location: City of Washington, 500 West to 300 East

Impact: * Traffic shifts to the south side of the road.

* Reduced speeds.

* One lane of traffic in each direction.

Activity: * Box culvert installation.

* Storm drain installation from 300 West to 300 East.

* Removing curb and gutter.

* Road milling on the north side of the road from 300 West to 100 West.

 

S.R. 9, 300 West To 800 North Hurricane

Contract: Interstate Rock Products

Amount: $10,203,871

Location: Hurricane City State Street

Impact: From 100 East to 800 North, traffic runs one lane on each side of the road, leaving the inside lanes closed to accommodate work on the center islands.

Activity: * Workers are building island medians and working on associated landscaping and enhancements.

* Final pavement remains.
