Officers Investigate Break-In at Panama Grill

ST. GEORGE – Officers are investigating a break-in at Panama Grill in Ancestor Square that caused $5, 000 in damage.

Officer Johnny Heppler said citizens reported seeing a broken window when passing by the restaurant around 2 p.m. Sunday. Investigating officers discovered that all the alcohol was stolen and the cash register was damaged.

The suspects then broke more windows, turned over tables and turned off the power to the cooler and left the door open so all the food spoiled. Heppler called the incident a “senseless, malicious vandalism.”

He said there are currently no suspects, however investigators are following up on leads. Anyone with more information can contact the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4300.
