Police: No foul play in hiker's death in Snow Canyon State Park

WASHINGTON COUNTY – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation of the Joshua F. Shillander’s death in Snow Canyon State Park. There has been no evidence of foul play involved in this tragic incident.

Detectives are conducting interviews, and will continue to work closely with the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The two individuals hiking with Joshua at the time of the incident were: Ryan Blake Sandberg, and Dawson Klingonsmith.

When appropriate under Utah law, requests for evidence, reports, and other investigatory materials will be released pursuant to the Government Records Access Management Act.
