ST. GEORGE – Two men were arrested in connection to this morning’s double homicide.
Brandon Perry Smith, 29, was arrested for aggravated murder and aggravated assault. Paul Ashton, 31, was arrested on two counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted aggravated murder. Ashton's address was listed in the bookings as the same address were the murders took place.
The two, both from St. George, were arrested after officers interviewed several people of interest in the murders of Jerrica Christensen, 20, of Santa Clara and Brandie Sue Dawn Jerden, 27, of St. George. James Fisk, 28, of St. George is currently being treated at Dixie Regional Medical Center for a gunshot wound.
Sgt. Craig Harding said a gun was involved in the crime, but would not identify whether the women were shot.
"Suffice it to say a gun was involved in the altercation," he said.
The victims were found in a townhome at 575 S. Main Street early this morning after police were called to a gunshot at 3:14 a.m., he said. The victims were found in different parts of the home. Harding said he does not know who lives at the home.
The investigation is not believed to be gang related, but Harding said they have not ruled out drugs.
